This reusable guide covers 1941-1945, the Holocaust, and Camp Theresienstadt. This guide is to be used in conjunction with the World War II/Holocaust Butterfly Tile.(EDU027). This project explores the city of Terezin, a Czechloslovakian town that was captured by the Germans in October of 1941 and renamed Theresienstadt. The town became a Jewish ghetto andoncentration camp to hold a special group of Jewish people known throughout the world. This group included scholars, writers, composers, artists, and diplomats. This lesson covers the inspiring story of those Jewish people who struggled for survival in desperate conditions, and pushed for their children's education against all obstacles.
